Where to send a notice

The fastest way is the form on this site — it captures everything needed to act on your request straight away, so nothing has to be chased up afterwards. Notices can also be sent to contact@livestreamrecorder.com, but they are slower to process because the required details often have to be requested separately.

How to submit a notice

A valid notice must identify the copyrighted work, identify the specific recordings you want removed and where they are, give your contact details, and include statements — made under penalty of perjury — that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised and that the information in your notice is accurate. Our form collects all of it, which is why it is the fastest route.

Report copyright infringement

What happens after a notice is received

Every notice is reviewed for completeness, and we may come back to you for more information. Where a claim is valid the recordings are removed promptly, and the creator they belong to can be blocked so that no further recordings of them are made.

Disputing a removal

If material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notification to contact@livestreamrecorder.com. It should identify the material and where it appeared, give your name, address and telephone number, carry your physical or electronic signature, and state under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification. It should also state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where you live, or, if you live outside the United States, of any district in which we may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the notice. Be aware of what this can and cannot achieve here. Removal means deletion: recordings are deleted, not hidden, and once deleted they cannot be restored. What a counter-notification does is put your account of the facts on record, cause any block on the creator to be reviewed so that recording can resume, and let us pass your notice to the person who filed the original claim so the dispute is between the two of you. It cannot bring back a file that no longer exists.

Repeat infringers

Creators who are the subject of repeated valid notices are blocked: their recordings are deleted and no further recordings of them are made. Accounts that repeatedly direct infringing recordings are terminated. This policy is applied in practice, not only published here.

Use this process in good faith

Submitting a notice you know to be false carries legal consequences, and a knowing misrepresentation is actionable under the DMCA. If you are not sure whether the material infringes your rights, take legal advice before filing.

Our role

Streams are recorded automatically at the direction of the user who adds them. We do not select, review or curate what is recorded in advance, and we do not authorise infringement. We are a neutral technical service. We provide the tools, the process set out on this page, and we act on valid notices. Recordings added to this site are publicly accessible, and the person who adds one is responsible for having the right to do so.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes take effect when published on this page, and the date above shows when it was last revised.
